Accord Party’s candidate, Amanabo, blames APC, PDP for loss of farm produce to flood
The Accord Party’s (AP) candidate for Idah Federal Constituency, Yusuf Amanabo, has expressed disappointment with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for paying lip service to agriculture, which could have emancipated the people of his constituency if the right things were done over the past 20 years.
The AP standard bearer, who faulted the PDP that ruled for 16 years and the APC that promised change and yet were not able to change the sorry tale of the people, especially in Ibaji, Idah, Igalamela and Ofu, said to ameliorate the plight of the people whose farm produce are perennially at the mercy of flood disaster, he expected government to have taken the issue of irrigation seriously.
He said with irrigation before the flood comes in, the farmers would have harvested their crops and would have sold off their products and not be affected.
