The move by the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), to conduct bye-elections in some political wards in Udi local government council of the state may suffer a setback as All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in the area, yesterday, dissociated the party from the exercise.

The Guardian gathered that the electoral umpire has scheduled a bye-election in Udi next week, following alleged wide scale malpractices that reportedly marred the exercise.

But in a statement signed on behalf of the Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates of the party by its local government chairman, Mr. Jude Anyadibe, the APC urged supporters in Udi to ignore the call by ENSIEC, stressing that the bye-election would not be different from “the just concluded sham elections, which purportedly took place in the state last Saturday”
