The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, has urged residents of Lagos State to ensure the re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for another term in office as reward for his outstanding performance since his emergence in 2019.

Israel, who is from Lagos and a former member of the State’s Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), made the appeal during his statewide door-to-door voter engagement exercise ahead of the election on Saturday, March 18.

As part of the engagement, which involves direct conversations with voters and visitation to community hubs, the national youth leader who covered Badagry, Amuwo Odofin, Mushin, Alimosho, and Festac, among others, used the opportunity to reel out community-specific interventions and projects of the Lagos State government under the leadership of Governor Sanwo-Olu.

At Ilasamaja, where Israel’s entourage of local mobilisers and community influencers stopped for his campaign, he highlighted some of the key projects started and completed by the Sanwo-Olu-administration, which include educational infrastructure such as classrooms and other amenities in St. Joseph Secondary School, Ajumoni Grammar School, Oduduwa Junior Secondary School and others in the area.

He said: “Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has demonstrated his commitment to a Greater Lagos with outstanding cross-sectoral achievements that have helped Lagos retain its lead as one the largest economies in Africa and the preferred destination for local and foreign investments.

“Our children are learning in the best conditions in government-operated schools, civil servants are enjoying a new lease of life and unprecedented productivity levels, and residents are able to move around and conduct their business with greater ease. This is because of the administration’s commitment giant strides in expanding the means of mobility in Lagos and providing access to credit through agencies and initiatives like the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund.

“My appeal to the people of Lagos is for them to send a strong message that hard work and excellent performance matter by re-electing Governor Sanwoolu on Saturday to continue the many good works he has started.”

Israel’s grassroots campaign for Governor Sanwoolu’s re-election follows his successful nationwide mobilisation for the APC and President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the just-concluded presidential election.

His efforts as the head of the party’s youth wing have earned him commendations and unanimous approval of the party’s leadership that his emergence has revitalised the party’s youth base, a feat expected to contribute to the APC’s anticipated good outing in state elections across the country on Saturday.
