The Oyo South senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, has unveiled Prince Seun Moronfolu Adelore as the Director-General of the Odidiomo Campaign Organisation ahead of the 2027 general election.
The unveiling came days after Olajide formally communicated Adelore’s appointment in a personally signed letter, mandating the former Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain to lead his senatorial campaign across the nine local government areas of Oyo South Senatorial District.
Speaking at the ceremony, Olajide described the appointment as a strategic step towards building a strong, experienced and disciplined campaign organisation capable of securing victory for the APM in the senatorial district.
He said Adelore’s political experience, leadership capacity, organisational competence and grassroots mobilisation skills informed his choice as campaign director-general.
According to him, Adelore would provide strategic leadership for the campaign, coordinate various campaign committees, mobilise stakeholders, promote party unity and ensure effective implementation of the campaign’s objectives across the nine local government areas.
Olajide said the campaign would be anchored on integrity, service, accountability, inclusion and responsible leadership, stressing that his aspiration was to earn the confidence of voters through issue-based engagement and programmes.
He expressed confidence that Adelore would discharge his responsibilities with commitment, wisdom and fairness while building a united campaign structure capable of accommodating diverse interests within the party.
The APM candidate said the appointment marked the beginning of a more coordinated political engagement as preparations for the 2027 election gathered momentum across Oyo South.
In his acceptance speech, Adelore thanked Olajide for the confidence reposed in him, describing the appointment as both an honour and a responsibility.
He said his decision to accept the assignment was informed by his conviction that Olajide possessed the character, capacity and leadership qualities required to provide effective representation for the people of Oyo South in the Senate.
Adelore pledged to deploy his political experience and organisational skills towards building a formidable campaign structure that would unite party members, expand the APM’s support base and secure victory for the party at the polls.
He assured party leaders, youths, women, support groups and other stakeholders that the campaign organisation would operate an open-door policy based on consultation, inclusiveness and mutual respect.
The campaign DG also promised to commence consultations across the nine local government areas of the senatorial district to harmonise existing political structures and ensure that all segments of the campaign worked towards a common objective.
He appealed to party members to remain united, disciplined and focused on achieving electoral success in 2027.
Adelore, an experienced grassroots politician in Oyo State, previously served as chairman of the PDP in Ibadan North Local Government and later chaired the Forum of the 33 PDP Local Government Chairmen during Governor Seyi Makinde’s first term in office.
He also played a role in grassroots mobilisation during the 2019 governorship election and served as chairman of the Oyo State Waste Management Agency.
