Following the composition of the 2027 Presidential campaign council and organisation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Director of Civil Societies Mobilization , Comrade Fabian Ugochukwu Okoye has described the CSOs as critical and strategic partners in the steady march of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and with a huge role to play .

Comrade Okoye who serves as special Adviser to the Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani on Research , documentation and strategy was also special Adviser to immediate last Governor of Sokoto state on civil Societies and Non Governmental Organisations, haven held similar position between 2011 and 2015 to the former speaker of the House of Representatives Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal; is a civil society development expert, versatile in strategy and communication as well as brilliant mobilizer.

He made the remarks in response to The Guardian on how he intends to galvanize the civil Societies across Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term bid.

According to him ,the civil Societies globally have a critical role in the leadership recruitment process of any country desirous of a place in the committee of nations .

He emphasized that the civil society groups with a capacity to organize people to take collective action on an issue should have a the full grasp of the direction of the Tinubu administration as contained in the Renewed Hope Agenda and the need to be part of the advocacy for the President’s second term bid giving the milage covered and greater future that beckons Nigeria .

He stated that the Civil society mobilization directorate will galvanize NGOs, unions, faith groups, student bodies, community associations and many more to participate in democratic processes and victory anchored on issues and performance indices of the President which spans across all sectors .

He pointed out that awareness, education, town halls, radio programs, social media campaigns, workshops by civil societies are a veritable tool of reaching out to the people, and that the President’s records are worthy of been featured at such foras of the civil societies as stakeholders in the Nigerian project devoid of political divides ,but in the interest of Nigeria,just as
he expressed readiness to hit the ground running .

Earlier, a Non Governmental Organisations known as National League for Advancement of Democracy applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the choice of Comrade Okoye to mobilize civil societies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Director of the civil society organization Dr Kingsley Ajiya in a statement said ,”We at the NLAD saw his appointment as round peg in a round hole. For those who know us ,we are not afraid of making our views clearly regardless of who’s ox is gored .

“We know that proper mobilization requires people with the knowledge of how the sector works and most importantly people who can change the narrative and one thing you cannot take away from this President is his ability to identify talents and utilize them in their areas of speciality .

“I want to assure you that even those who didn’t want to support this administration will now change their minds because of people like comrade Fabian Okoye who’s track records are not in doubt.

“Without civil society mobilization, democracy becomes quiet. With it, citizens become active participants, not just spectators and this comrade will
together prominent organisations as an experienced strategists and grassroots mobilizer to coordinate the campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.”

The NGO continued, “his remarkable record in civil society development, his extensive political experience and network, and his grassroots engagement are expected to strengthen the campaign’s capacity to communicate and mobilize the Renewed Hope Administration’s achievements and mobilise support across the length and breadth of the Federation.”

The Council will be led by Senator Abdulaziz Yari, former Governor of Zamfara State and a serving Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, who has been appointed as the Director-General of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council.

The appointment underscores the importance attached to civil society mobilisation, grassroots and national coordination as the APC prepares to take the message and achievements of the Renewed Hope Administration to every part of the country.
