Coalition of All Progressives Congress (APC) Image Makers in Niger State, in solidarity with Senator Sani Musa (Niger East), has said the zoning template used by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) is lopsided and detrimental to survival of the party.

The coalition made its position known in a briefing, yesterday, in Minna. Co-convener of the forum, Shuaib Wana, revealed that the coalition rejected zoning of leadership positions for the 10th National Assembly, and urged the president-elect, Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and party leaders at all levels to revisit the arrangement without further delay.

He expressed the forum’s disappointment that despite contributions of North Central to the party, it was denied leadership positions in 2019, 2022 and the coming 10th National Assembly.

Wana stressed that Niger played a crucial role in the party’s victory in the 2023 general elections.

“The party in the state secured the governorship, two senatorial seats, seven House of Representatives seats as well as 21 out of the 27 House of Assembly seats during the elections,” he noted.
