Court disqualifies Tonye Cole as Rivers APC governorship candidate
A federal high court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state has disqualified Tonye Cole as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Judge Emmanuel Obile gave the ruling on Thursday.
Cole, a former executive director of Sahara Group, was announced the winner of the APC governorship ticket in Rivers State after polling 986 in May.
The APC candidate’s closest challenger Ojukai Flagamakere polled 190 votes.
Other aspirants Sukonte Davids polled 49 votes, Michael West got 43 votes, Benald Miku had two votes, and Magnus Abe with one vote.
