House of Reps aspirant, Chima Anyaso, unveils manifesto
People’s Democratic Party, PDP, House of Representatives candidate for Bende federal constituency seat in the 2019 general election, Chima Anyaso, has unveiled his manifesto containing plans, programs, and the developmental goals he hopes to pursue if he is eventually elected to represent his constituency at the National Assembly.
In a manifesto presentation ceremony and dinner event yesterday at the Civic Centre, in Victoria Island, Lagos, the Igbere-born businessman assured his audience, which was mainly made up of business executives, that he would bring development to Bende through effective legislative intervention.
On his plans for the development of Bende, he says it would be anchored on some cardinal areas of need.
They are education, healthcare, roads and infrastructure development, ecological and environmental interventions, as well as youth empowerment and agricultural development.
He describes his journey into politics as one driven by the desire to change the narrative and to provide an alternative voice for the youths.
The 38-year-old aspirant described the lack of interest in politics by youths as being responsible for the dominance of the political space by “very old and tired” politicians who are due for retirement. He regretted the fact that not too many young Nigerians, like himself, are ready to take the leap into politics but said he would see to it that such would no longer be the case when eventually elected.
Highly placed political office holders and stakeholders in Abia state politics were present at the manifesto presentation, led by the Deputy speaker of the Abia state House of Assembly, Cosmos Ndukwe, who described Anyaso as the new face of politics in Abia and indeed Nigeria.
Several other Bende-born business leaders based in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria were also in attendance.
