Alhaji Alhassan Doguwa, a member of House of Representatives, representing Doguwa Constituency in Kano State, has implored APC members to unite and remain peaceful.

Doguwa, who is the Chief Whip of the House, made the call on Monday in Kano at the end of a meeting to reconcile feuding members of APC in Kano Central Senatorial District.

He said that peace and unity were critical ingredients needed in the party to support elected public officers to move the state and country forward.

The lawmaker said that the constitution of a reconciliation committee was to strengthen the ties of unity and to ensure the party delivered on its manifesto and performed well in future elections.

He said that the meeting, held under the leadership of Alhaji Kabiru Rurum, the Speaker Kano State House of Assembly, was to enable party members to resolve their differences and to move forward.

Doguwa appealed to APC members to put their differences aside and work for the success of party’s programmes in the overall interest of all party members.

”The party’s previous success was recorded as a result of the unity of our members; therefore, we should not rest on our oars.

“We should not also allow distractions to prevent us from fulfilling our promises to the electorate to create a change for better life,” he said.

The chief whip stressed the need to strengthen cooperation among APC stakeholders in the state to further develop the state and the country economically.

He said the party was addressing critical issues in the three geopolitical zones in the state in the interest of the party.

“As you can see on the faces of all our members, who were in the meeting, you can understand that the meeting was successful and we recorded a lot of success,” Doguwa said.

He called on the party men to continue to support the leadership of President Muhammad Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to enable them fulfill their campaign promises.

Doguwa said that the reconciliation committee would be headed by the Speaker of the State Assembly, Alhaji Kabiru Rurum, and other members drawn from the 15 local government areas of Kano Central Federal Constituency.
