Nkwegu remains Ebonyi LP governorship candidate, says group
The Nkwegu/Obi Support Group in Ebonyi Labour Party (LP), yesterday, insisted that the party would win with a landslide in next year general elections, noting that Chief Edward Nkwegu remains the authentic governorship candidate of the party.
The group, in a state in Abakaliki by its President, Mr. James Nnachi, while reacting to a Federal High Court judgement in Abakaliki, which ruled that any primary election held other than the one that produced Splendor Oko Eze as the candidate of the LP in the state remains null and void.
Nkwegu was elected the governorship candidate of the party in a substituted primary conducted by the national leadership of the party in Abakaliki, last week, and in the same week the Federal High Court ruled that the primary that
produced Splendor as the candidate of the LP remains valid.
Nnachi maintained that Nkwegu remains the authentic governorship candidate of the party for the 2023 governorship election in the state.
