Tukur lauds Fintiri’s performance in office

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has commended Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State for what he described as fantastic performance within a short time in office.

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has commended Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State for what he described as fantastic performance within a short time in office.

A statement in Yola yesterday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humawashi Wonosikou, quoted Tukur as saying: “You’ve done a good job within a very short period. You should be so proud of yourself because you’re a true gift to the people and a model for the state.”

Tukur was the governor of the defunct Gongola State, from where Adamawa was created.

According to the statement, former PDP chairman expressed support for Fintiri in his bid to put Adamawa on the map of developed states in Nigeria.

Tukur reported noted that the governor needed support to do more in the health and education sector, as well as human empowerment and infrastructure development to turn the state to a tourist hub.

Fintiri, who visited the elder statesman to intimate him of developments back home and to draw from his wealth of knowledge, pointed out that the state had no excuse to lag behind.

He assured that every council would benefit from the development projects and that all projects embarked upon would be completed before the end of his tenure.
