Contemporary real estate development company Landculture has launched Arewa City, a recreation-themed park estate in Oke Oyi, Ilorin, as it expands its footprint in Kwara State’s property market.

The project, unveiled during a sand bed ceremony on July 24, marks the commencement of construction on a development that the company says will combine residential living with recreational, commercial and wellness facilities.

Speaking at the launch, a Landculture executive, Matthew Adekola, said the estate was conceived to offer more than housing by creating a community centred on lifestyle and outdoor living.

According to him, the name Arewa, which he said means “beautiful”, reflects the company’s vision of creating an environment where families can live, interact and enjoy recreational facilities within a planned community.

“Rather than focus on building houses, we set out to build a lifestyle where families gather, children grow up outdoors instead of indoors and neighbours become friends over shared experiences.”

Adekola outlined facilities planned for the estate, including Paradise Park, a golf course, a trade centre, children’s playgrounds, lawn tennis and basketball courts, as well as electricity infrastructure intended to provide reliable power for residents.

He said the project aims to position Ilorin as a destination where people choose to live, invest and raise families, rather than simply a transit city.

According to him, the development will also rely on partnerships involving investors, government agencies, contractors and future residents to achieve its objectives.

Also speaking at the event, Landculture Ambassador Bolaji Magaji Nda said his association with the company was based on his assessment of its previous projects, including Alafia Gardens.

He encouraged prospective investors to consider the development, expressing confidence in the company’s ability to deliver the project.
