Real estate business is perhaps the most lucrative business niche in Nigeria. The steady population growth rate in Nigeria made the real estate sector remain very lucrative as people daily look for accommodations or build a home of their own.

In a recent interview, real estate entrepreneur and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Walztechs, Omobobola Olawale gives candid tips on what it takes to start a real estate business. He says starting a real estate business is a good career option that comes with a lot of difficulties and challenges. He adds that the market is a well established one with rising competition from numerous new and established players. But he advises that new comers or anyone coming into the sector need not entertain any fear.

“ I love being my own boss which allows me to have a flexible schedule and to be in control of my successes or failures. I also love the fact that I am constantly learning new things from contracts to rules and regulations. I am never bored. I get to work with some wonderful people and yes, the money is nice as well,” he began

“However, do not be intimidated by the competition. When starting a real estate business, the focus should be on a good planning. The initial phase of a business is its foundation. Make sure that the foundation is solid so that you can handle the harsh market environment successfully later on. So, to be successful in my own real estate business, I must be prepared to face the challenges. At personal level, and as a business owner, nurture your ambitions and become goal-oriented and organized person. Keep in mind that real estate sector is not about achieving instant success. Instead, it is a long game, which requires you to have a lot of patience,” he explained, highlighting some challenges inherent in the business which is fast catching fire in Lagos, Nigeria.

“One of the biggest challenges is getting the clients lined up to buy or sell properties from me . But today I have no regrets,” he added.

Walztechs has become a top player in the real estate sector in Nigeria, basically as a result of the Chief Executive’s vision and mission to bring something unique and affordable to the table.

Omobobola Olawale started his real estate company in 2016 and has since undertaken well over 20 projects spread across mega city of Lagos State.

While the industry has become exclusive haven of the super rich, Omobobola has an edge as an entrepreneur with a professional backing. So, it is not business as usual but professionalism backed by vision and passion.

He is a graduate of Computer Engineering Technology from the prestigious Rufus Giwa Polytechnic in Owo, Ondo State. He cemented his professionalism in the real estate sector by bagging a diploma in Architecture in 1992.

He is based in Lagos and so his Walztechs. He is a native of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. He is the eldest of a family of 4.
