Oganisers of the Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF) Awards, Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has concluded plans to hold the 13th edition of the awards.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by AAAN Publicity Secretary, Jenkins Alumona. According to the statement, the theme for this year’s awards, which holds on December 9, is ‘Future Forward’.

Instituted in 2006 with the aim of recognising, rewarding and fostering creative excellence in all areas of marketing communications, the award with an international status has continuously promoted Nigeria’s creative potentials in the international circle as well as recognised outstanding creativity and created an avenue for the celebration of world-class ideas.

For this year’s event, the organisers have put in place three major events — The LAIF Seminar, Young LAIFERS Competition and LAIF Awards Dinner.

According to Alumona, the LAIF seminar is targeted at senior practitioners in marketing communications, adding that the programme will be facilitated by local and international brand luminaries, and will have in attendance over 500 delegates from various sectors of the industry.

He further explained that the seminar offers a unique learning experience as well as provides an in-depth insight into key marketing and marketing communications challenges.

“It will give the participants the unique opportunity of interacting with facilitators and other participants in order to acquire more knowledge and exchange ideas,” the statement read.

According to the statement, “the young LAIFERS competition is a creative contest to discover and promote young talents within the industry and among students of higher institutions.

The grand finale and awards dinner is an event that will convene captains of the industry, business leaders and policy makers alike to celebrate the industry’s ideas and best practices.”

AAAN President, Ikechi Odigbo, stated that the LAIF awards are the most credible creative rating in the Nigeria creative industry.

He added that the awards would expand to West Africa by next edition and the African continent thereafter.

Chairman, LAIF Management Board and Vice President of the Association, Mr. Steve Babaeko, said this year’s awards will hold at Landmark Event Centre and Freedom Park as a means of adding more essence and building an atmosphere of fun and entertainment.
