Actress Kiki Omeili offers Run as first big fruit
Notable Nollywood actress, Kiki Omeili plays the lead role of Tomilola Wright in her first feature film as a writer and producer titled ‘Run’.
The movie, which opened in cinemas across the country this weekend, is centred on a hardworking young woman who lives a dull and routine life. She comes face to face with a situation while running one night, which throws her life into chaos. The young woman is then left to wriggle herself out of the mess, back to her former life.
An engaging story, ‘Run’ was directed by Uche Chukwu and it stars some notable Nollywood actors such as Rotimi Salami, Kelechi Udegbe, Greg Ojefua, and comedian Owen Gee. Run is Kiki’s debut feature film as a producer.
The medical doctor turned actress who doubled as the writer of the movie, had in 2016 produced a short film ‘Unprotected’, which was selected for screening at the short film corner of the Cannes International Film Festival in France. Kiki is also popular for starring in some critically acclaimed Nollywood movies like ‘Married and Living Single’, ‘Gbomo Gbomo Express’, ‘Catch.er’, ‘Couple of Days’ and ‘The Antique’. Kiki said during the week that she is excited about the formal release of the movie in cinemas because it is her first feature film as a producer.
In her words ‘’I am super excited that we have finished work on the movie and are now ready to offer it to the public. It opens in cinemas as from August 23’’.
A product of the college of medicine of the University of Lagos, Kiki who once hosted the popular television reality dance show ‘Dance 234’ has been having an impressive run in the movies since she made her first movie debut. Focused, steady and consistent, Kiki other movie credits include ‘Behind The Smile’, ‘The Valley Between’, ‘Footprints’ and ‘Lekki Wives’.
