After Abuja, MTV Base VJ search audition hits Coal City

Enugu, the capital city of Enugu State was alive yesterday, as MTV Base VJ Search auditions landed the Coal City, having scooped talents in Abuja.

Enugu, the capital city of Enugu State was alive yesterday, as MTV Base VJ Search auditions landed the Coal City, having scooped talents in Abuja.

MTV Base superstar VJ Ehiz, won MTV Base’s last VJ Search in 2013, was on-site in Enugu to capture all the action for the TV channel, alongside a host of celebrity judges, who joined MTV Base in weighing up all the VJ wannabes with their eyes on the prize – a contract with MTV Base worth a cool 20 million Naira!

The Judges for the Enugu auditions include Jude Thomas Dawam, Rexx, and Lyrics Moemeka from Dream 92.5 FM, Solid 100.9 OAP and News Production & Events Manager, Justice Amah, Urban Radio 94.5 FM OAP, Osarogie Ogbonwan (Big Brother), and Dream 92.5 FM OAP, Onwuatuegwu Nneka.

According to the organisers, the top 10 finalists and the winner of the MTV Base VJ Search will be revealed in September. The show is open to Nigerian citizens aged between 18-25, with fluent spoken English and a valid Nigerian passport.

The MTV Base VJ Search 2016 auditions kicked off in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, on Tuesday, 9 August as tons of aspiring hopefuls filled up the NAF Conference Centre for the first leg of the auditions.

With some of Abuja’s finest personalities on hand as judges, the contestants had to impress media consultant, Eddie Madaki, comedian and Wazobia FM OAP, Big Mo, Award winning music producer, Gospel on De Beat, top promoter and YBNL Abuja rep, Vidi Inyang, Founder, Abuja Entertainment Seminar, Chinedu Oji and Hot FM OAP, Amaka Onyeagoro.

Since winning the VJ search in 2013, Ehiz has hosted a multitude of MTV Base programmes and showbiz events, including the Official Naija Top 10, Word on the Street, and Real Talk, and interviewed stars from Lagos to Amsterdam and Hollywood, including artistes like Tinie Tempah, Wale, Jidenna, Davido, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage and others.
