Culture-led strategy and project management company redefining how African creative ideas are structured, scaled, and delivered globally, Amanar Group’s co-hosting of the Diaspora Week Lagos 2026 opening reception has brought renewed attention to the growing importance of connecting African creative talent with international markets, investors, and cultural institutions.

Held in Lagos on October 27, the reception was organised in partnership with Amplify Africa, The Temple Company, and Levitikal Group. The reception brought together local and international creative and business leaders, highlighting efforts to attract global investment, strengthen cultural exchange and create wider opportunities for African talent.

It also set the tone for two weeks of major creative, cultural and technology events, including Lagos Fashion Week, Art X, the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), Moonshot by TechCabal and the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX).

Commenting on the decision to host the reception, global business mogul and music executive, Abdul Quam Tadese, popularly known as AQT, who also spearheads the Amanar Group said, “The reason this is very important for us to do is that a lot of importing has to be done for there to be a balance. African excellence is continually taken abroad, and it’s time for the world to start coming into Africa to see and connect first-hand.”

The reception reflects Amanar Group’s wider mission of building infrastructure for African creativity to thrive globally. Operating across music, live events, creator partnerships, fashion, and cultural initiatives, the company has delivered culturally authentic experiences at scale, from the Afrobeats Festival in Berlin in 2023 to the sold-out UNILAG Independence Day Festival and its Kaduna edition, which drew more than 10,000 people.

According to AQT, what the two-week events mean for Nigeria is about direction of travel. He noted that African talent and output already reach audiences abroad, and the aim is to draw more of the world to Nigeria in person.

If that happens, it would shift some of the contact between the diaspora, investors and Nigerian creatives onto Nigerian ground.
