As the hit reality television show, Big Brother Naija Season 9 (BBNaija S9) dubbed ‘Dynamic Duos’ premieres tomorrow, Nigerians, especially ardent viewers of the show are in for another on a wild 71-day ride! Expect drama, laughter, shocking twists, intense challenges, and enough ‘gbas gbos’ to keep you entertained 24/7.

Unlike previous seasons, this season will be a showcase of pairs, duos – celebrating and testing the ties that bind and stretching the trust that hold friendships and relationships together to create an electrifying blend of uniquely interesting characters and faces in the house.

This season as promised by the organisers, MultiChoice Nigeria, via an announcement on Wednesday, July 17, on its official X handle, is expected to be bigger and better than the previous editions, though not in terms of the ultimate prize win, which during the last season was a whopping N120 million won by Ilebaye Precious Odiniya also known as Baye or Gen-Z Baddie. The paired-up housemates will battle for the N100 million grand prize, comprising a N65 million cash prize and a brand new SUV.

With several exciting twists and turns, this season is set to keep viewers glued to their screens. Biggie is not letting the Housemates drink water and drop cup. He’s turning up the heat right from the jump! Don’t snooze; this is going to be a #BBNaija season like no other!

Contestants Come in Pairs
This year, the promoters of the show are doing things differently and taking both the contestants and the viewers to another level. They have promised a show, and it is hope that the show will be given.

For the first time in the history of show, the contestants auditioned in pairs and will enter the house in pairs, for example brother and sister, boyfriend and girlfriend, besties, any kind of pair you can think of. Imagine the sort of drama and entertainment that this alone will bring.

A Revamped House
As noted, one thing the show organisers never miss is the fresh, incredible look and feel of the house, and season 9 will not be an exception. MultiChoice Nigeria usually leave no stone unturned in its revamp of the BBNaija house to better cater to the housemates and the various activities they will engage in to win the grand prize.

Since the relocation of the Big Brother Naija house to Nigeria in 2019, the multi-purpose facility has gone and often goes through several modifications. For this season, contestants and viewers should expect a fresh, innovative design that will set the stage for all the drama, alliances, and excitement.

Streamlined Voting Process
As always associated with the show, the power to influence the game lies in the hands of viewers, and this season, the voting process have been streamlined with the introduction of the new MyDStv and GOtv app, hence making the process to be more accessible.

Votes can also be made on the Big Brother Naija website, which allows for 100 votes. However, for maximum voting power, the app is the best choice, offering 250 votes and more, depending on your subscription package. So download or update the app to make the process seamless.

Fave Lock-In With A Twist
For the past three seasons, Big Brother Naija has featured a popular prize segment where fans could lock in their guess for the season’s winner, with a blind draw determining the winner of N30 million among those who guess correctly.

With an exciting twist this season, ‘Fave Lock In’ competition is different from what obtained in previous seasons – fans will no longer Lock-In the winner of the season, instead they will lock-in pairs they think will win the immunity challenge (a weekly house activity).

The new Fave Lock-In allows for a more strategic support of your favourite BBNaija S9 pairs. This new twist will kick off on August 1 and run until the August 26, adding an extra layer of strategy and competition to the game.

There’s no better place to form alliances and relationships than in Biggie’s house. Like the in the past seasons, the contestants the duos will scatter ground with their vibes, from romance to gameplay. Over the seasons, certain pairs have stood out due to their chemistry, strategic gameplay, and unforgettable moments.

BamTeddy (Double Wahala)
BamBam and Teddy A, fondly known as BamTeddy, were ambassadors of romance in the Double Wahala season. Their ship blossomed naturally, starting as a close friendship and evolving into a deep romantic connection.

Adenita (All Stars)
Adekunle and Venita, known as Adenita, formed a very close bond for a big part of the show. They spent a lot of time together and fans enjoyed their bond, which was evident during group tasks and challenges.

Adekunle’s calm demeanour and Venita’s fiery personality complemented each other, making them a dynamic duo. Their relationship became tumultuous towards the end of the show, leading to an awkward dinner date which became a big Adenita highlight.
