Bode George yet to get Lagos title
Not many know that PDP chieftain, Chief Olabode George, has about 32 chieftaincy titles conferred on him by communities across the country. But none yet has come from his place of birth- Lagos.
People attribute this to political interplay in the state, as George, is a die-hard member of a party perceived to be an archrival of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, would find it difficult to get a title in Lagos yet.
Although the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, knows full well that George, aside the fact that he hails from Lagos Island, coupled with his pedigree in the country, is ripe for a title, the party he belongs to appears to be the stumbling block.
George was military governor of Ondo State and later chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), then National Vice Chairman, Southwest, of the PDP.
