Founder of African Movie Academy Awards, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe has received a special recognition by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The Lagos State governor, in a letter of recognition, salutes Anyiam-Osigwe’s unending commitment to a more equal and equitable world.

This is coming after the celebration of the International Women’s Day where Anyiam-Osigwe was named alongside 99 other women as Eko 100 women for the International Women’s Day and month.

In the letter signed by the Governor Sanwo-Olu, the governor described Anyiam-Osigwe as a trailblaser, who has inspired young males and females follow her footsteps in achieving a world where everyone is truly valued and acknowledged irrespective of gender, age, language or skin colour.

In furtherance, the governor expressed gratitude to Anyiam-Osigwe for her unforgettable contributions towards building a greater Lagos.

“We salute your boundary breaking and your bold and visible presence in the spaces and places that matter. We also honour the work that you do to expand these spaces for more people, especially women and girls. Thank you for your unforgettable contributions towards building the greater Lagos of our dreams,” Sanwo-Olu remarked.

The Governor also pledge to support Anyiam-Osigwe and her cause saying, ” I am pledging our total unequivocal support for every effort to achieve a Lagos, where all women, and girls can live their lives to the fullest and achieve their potential without limits.”
