Glo Laffta Fest: Latin on home turf in Ijebu- Ode, Basketmouth, Acapella, others turn up big

For Nollywood comic character, Bolaji Johnson Amusan popularly known as Mr. Latin, the Ijebu Ode edition of Globacom flagship comedy show, Laffta Fest, was a glorious homecoming.

Mr Latin who was a celebrity guest received a loud ovation as he appeared on stage at the show, which held at the Spectralinks Event Centre in the ancient town, and coincided with the end of the month-long Ramadan fast.

Celebrated comedian, Bright Okpocha well known as Basketmouth, alongside other comic acts including sensational preacher/interpreter, Still Ringing, made up of Ojo Ladipupo Daniel and Ogunsina Ayodeji Samuel; Port Harcourt-based Arinze Baba, MC Acapella, Seyilaw and Esusu master, Gordons entertained the audience made up of subscribers, who dressed resplendently.

Also, up and coming comedians MC Michael, Sweet Mouth and MC Dannyboy, showcase their talent at the impressive show organized by the telecom service provider in appreciation of its subscribers’ loyalty over the years.

Aside Mr. Latin, Patience Ozokwor (Mama Gee), and screen divas Mercy Johnson-Okojie and Ebube Nwagbo, who co-anchored the fest, were some of the Nollywood acts at the show.

In a brief remark, the National Sales Coordinator Lagos and Ogun, Globacom, Mr. Akeem Kazeem, extended the company’s felicitations to Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.

According to him, the pan Nigeria comedy extravaganza was designed to reward Glo’s teeming subscribers for their support over the years, and adding that the company was irrevocably committed to fashioning new ways of enriching their lives with quality products and services and entertainment platforms such as the Glo Laffta Fest show.

Guests who arrived the venue ahead of schedule as well as those who excelled in dance competitions went home with goodie bags of branded gifts. In the female category of the dance competitions, Omolola Sodiq won, while Mayowa Aladeyelu emerged winner of the male category.

The show continues tomorrow in Kaduna, while other cities including Awka, Ikeja, Ikorodu, FESTAC, Ajah, Asaba, Aba, Suleja, Kubwa, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Abeokuta, Lokoja, Makurdi and Anyigba will host the show in the coming weeks.
