In a grand gesture of generosity, Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, acclaimed as Tubaba, has donated a multimillion naira recording studio to the School of Music at Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State.

Taking to his Instagram page to reveal the news, Tubaba received applauds from Nigerians for giving back to his alma mater. He also noted that the Benue State University, in his hometown, would be the next on his list of beneficiaries.

Recall that, in 2019, the singer was honoured with the award of Fellow of the School of Music, by the OAU’s Department of Music, becoming the pioneer recipient of the award, which was presented to him at the department’s novel public lecture and fellowship award ceremony.

“Being the torch-bearer for the new pop movement is a role I do not take lightly, and I am honoured to have been found worthy of such noble albeit enormous responsibility,” Tubaba said, at the time.
