After cementing his position as a legendary rapper in Nigeria, Jude Abaga, better known as MI Abaga, has nothing left to prove. Yet, for the acclaimed record executive and musician, the hunger to keep reinventing himself through his art remains insatiable.

With his just-released album dubbed, The Guy, MI Abaga bares the best of his wits, melodies and flows that helped him to the top spot in Nigeria’s rap game.

The album opener, which is also titled The Guy, sees MI remind listeners of his position as Nigeria’s hip-hop prodigy. From the beat to the lyrical delivery, the record stands out as one of the best album openers from a rap artist.

The upward trajectory of his career is also highlighted in the track dubbed, Bigger, where he tag-teams fellow industry heavyweight, Olamide, and America’s rap maverick, Nas, to deliver a groovy mid-tempo song that is guaranteed to become an anthem of success stories.

Interestingly, on this album, MI who recently announced his engagement, also delves into the loverboy side of himself; The Love Song and The Inside sees him unfurl his emotions as he collaborates with The Cavemen, Phyno & Wande Coal who bare their uniqueness on these songs.

The Guy is out across all streaming platforms.
