Dosunmu, Mo Abudu, Ramsey Nouah Join Academy Of Motion Picture
The American Academy of Motion Picture of Arts and Science or Oscars for short has turned the spotlight on Nigeria and its massive movie industry—Nollywood again as the prestigious body has admitted three Nigerian filmmakers United States based Andrew Dosumu, motion picture Amazon Mo Abudu and award winning actor and director Ramsey Nouah into the Academy Voting Board. They are to serve as voting members of the Academy.

It will be recalled that the Oscars had previously invited a couple of Nigerian and Nigerian born filmmakers to serve as voting members of the Academy. Those invited include award winning actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, filmmaker Femi Odugbemi, notable Director Akin Omotoso and veteran filmmaker Tunde Kelani. Observers say that the invitation extended to Dosumu, Mo Abudu and Ramsey Nouah is a well-deserved recognition not just for the filmmakers but also for Nollywood, which is clearly Africa’s undisputable movie making factory.

By this invitation too, Dosumu, Mo Abudu and Ramsey Nouah will join the over eight thousand accomplished men and women working in and out of cinema that have been admitted into the world’s pre-eminent movie award body.
