The Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN) has revealed that its 2025 annual conference slated for June 2, 2025 will be held in partnership with World Health Expo Lagos, formerly Medic West Africa.
This year’s conference theme is “The Creative Catalyst: Driving Sustainable Healthcare Solutions in West Africa,”. The Managing Director of PSHAN, Dr. Tinuola Akinbolagbe, stated that the conference will explore the intersection between the creative sector, business innovation, and healthcare transformation.
“With Nigeria’s creative industry emerging as one of the most dynamic and resilient sectors, this conference seeks to leverage its lessons to reimagine healthcare investments and interventions. The event will highlight how creativity-driven solutions can shape a more responsive, scalable, and sustainable healthcare ecosystem.”
She said Nigeria’s healthcare sector faces persistent challenges, including inadequate infrastructure, limited access to quality healthcare, and underfunding.
“Despite government and private sector efforts, the sector still struggles with gaps in service delivery, high disease burdens, and inefficiencies that hinder progress toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
“On the other hand, Nigeria’s creative industry has demonstrated an extraordinary ability to scale, attract investment, and engage vast audiences, positioning itself as a major contributor to the country’s economy.
“The 2025 PSHAN Conference seeks to bridge this gap by facilitating cross-sector dialogue between leaders in both industries. By drawing parallels with the creative industry, the conference aims to highlight how proven strategies and models in the creative industry can inspire new models for healthcare investment, delivery, and accessibility.”
Head, Corporate Communications, PSHAN, Clifford Egbomeade, stated that the conference will hold at the Landmark Centre, Lagos. Egbomeade added that the conference while Dr. Tinuola Akinbolagbe,MD/CEO, PSHAN is the host, the Managing Director and CEO of Aliko Dangote Foundation, Ms. Zouera Youssoufou will chair the conference.
He said keynote speaker is Mr. Fred Swaniker, Founder & CEO, Sand Technologies with Mr. Segun Arinze, Veteran Nollywood Actor/Producer; Ms. Iretiola Doyle, Veteran Nollywood Actor/Producer; Dr. Kaffy Shafau, CEO/Creative Director, Kaffy Kreative Agency; Mr. Abuchi Peter Ugwu, CEO and Co-Founder, Chocolate City Music/Bean Creative IMC and Dr. Egemba Chinonso Fidelis, Medical Doctor & Storyteller will participate in a panel discussion to be moderated by Mr. Amana Agu,Creative Industry Expert.
Egbomeade further said a goodwill message will be delivered by Dr. Zephaniah Chinedu,Deputy General Manager & Group Head of Corporate Communications, Zenith Bank while the masterclass sessions will be anchored by Mr. Amaechi Okobi, Chief Brand and Communications Officer, Access Corporation and Dr. Kemi Da Silva-Ibru, Women at Risk International Foundation (WARIF).
