Singer, Lucy changes stage name to Eony

Talented singer and songwriter, Iheonyechoro Ugorji, who was known as Lucy has changed her stage name to Eony.

Eony as she is now known says the change was necessary to align with her current rebrand as an artiste and as a brand.

In a video she made which has now gone viral, Eony says the name is coined from her first name Iheonyechoro.

She said: “Over the years, as I have grown creatively, I feel like my real self and my artiste self have merged and I feel like it’s time to embrace who I really am and be true to myself.”

She added that “Eony is actually short for my first name Iheonyechoro, which means what I want and I would want to represent that.”

The star who was previously signed to Paul of the defunct Psquare group, has been solo for sometime and has released several hits such as Wanted and IBAM.
