The tour has seen the Grammy-nominated star perform at some of North America’s biggest venues, including Canada’s Scotiabank Arena, a 19,000-capacity venue and home to NBA team Toronto Raptors, joining fellow Nigerian stars Asake, Burna Boy, and Rema as artistes who have sold out tickets at the venue.
It has also showcased the Son of Mercy hitmaker, a 2016 Extended Play with tracks like Gbagbe Oshi, How Long and Coolest Kid in Africa, versatility and exceptional stage performance, earning praise from fans and critics alike.
After the Merriweather Post Pavilion concert, the self proclaimed Omo Baba Olowo (O.B.O) celebrated with fans and his team, cutting a cake to mark the record-breaking achievement. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude with these words: “We did it; we sold out every night and made millions of dollars. If you dream it, it’s possible. With God, everything is possible. With all the odds against me, we made it happen.”
The 5 Alive Tour follows the release of Davido’s fifth studio album, 5ive, and features an all-star supporting cast including rap phenomenon OdumoduBlvck, Afrobeats star, Victony, and emerging talent Moravvey.
While the current leg wraps up this summer, the Assurance crooner is set to return to the U.S. on November 20 for the final lap of the tour at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, where he will host his signature AWAY Festival.
