Nigerian singer Rudeboy has reunited with Ghanaian rap icon Sarkodie for a new single titled, Blessed & Alive, which is set for release on Friday, July 24. The collaboration was revealed in a lyric teaser posted by the duo on Tuesday, July 14.

The black-and-white visual features both artistes in a reflective pose, with the song title written in bold gold brush strokes. Blessed & Alive marks a reunion of two of Africa’s most decorated acts. The track leans inspirational, a departure from club-driven releases currently dominating the charts.

The teaser has already sparked strong reactions across social media, with music lovers eager to hear what promises to be another memorable collaboration between two of Africa’s most celebrated artistes. The single celebrates resilience, gratitude and success, themes that have become hallmarks of both performers’ musical journey.

While details of the track remain under wraps, the title has already fuelled speculation that the song will deliver an uplifting message wrapped in infectious melodies and powerful lyricism. Early lyrics scrolling across the screen suggest a message of gratitude, perseverance, and survival. It includes “From the dark to the light now I’m standing tall” and “the journey is never easy when you want to be the best.”

For Rudeboy, one half of the defunct P-Square, has built a solo catalogue around Afro-fusion anthems and street-hop melodies, the release marks another chapter in a solo career that has continued to flourish through a string of successful singles and captivating live performances..

Renowned for his soulful vocals and emotionally rich songwriting, he remains one of Nigeria’s most enduring hitmakers. The single follows a quiet first half of 2026, with no major solo drop since late 2025.

Widely regarded as one of Africa’s finest rappers and Ghana’s most awarded rapper, known for blending Twi rap with conscious themes, Sarkodie brings his trademark lyrical dexterity and commanding delivery to the collaboration.

Over the years, the Ghanaian superstar has built a reputation for seamlessly blending hip-hop with Afrobeats, earning acclaim both at home and on the international stage. For him, the new offering comes after a series of features and his ongoing African tour.

The duo’s last collaboration was over a decade ago during the Azonto wave, making this a full-circle moment. Fans on Instagram flooded the comment section with praise for the pairing, describing the song as giving chills and celebrating the continued Ghana-Nigeria music connection. Many noted nostalgia for the P-Square era, with one fan writing, “This is the Rudeboy we missed.”
