After becoming one of the most streamed artistes in the world, there really are no limits anymore for Chukwuka Ekweani, the love maestro better known as Ckay. Stretching his streak of global smash hits, Ckay has officially unveiled his first single for the year, a South African House jam dubbed, Watawi, tag-teaming other global stars such as Davido, Focalistic and Abidoza. 

With Watawi, Ckay channels his inner lover-boy harmony over some soulful Amapiano melodies. The love record is a seamless chemistry for Davido, whose raspy vocals heat the danceability of the song, while the South African maverick, Abidoza provides the right underlying melody for his countryman Focalistic to serve up an infectious rap in his native Sepitori lingo. 

Conceptually, the song explores the subject of love, taking a swipe at undefined relationships. It is typically a play on word with the phrase, ‘what are we?’ 

“A lot of people have been in tricky situations when their situationship attempts to push things further than it needs to be,” CKay said in a recent chat on Twitter.

“Sometimes, it’s best to let things be and just vibe without the pressure of defining the nature of the relationship.”
