Making its exciting debut in the city of Enugu last week, the Monkey Shoulder’s Press Play Concert in collaboration with In The Yard turned the Base Landmark into a full-blown playground for grown-ups, delivering vibes and excitement to the city like never before.
Monkey Shoulder didn’t just bring blended malt-whisky to Enugu, they brought a whole vibe; one that left the city thrumming even long after the last beat dropped — cocktails filled with friskiness, neon lights, electric moving bodies, immersive games and a lineup so tight it felt like a festival.
Before the music hit its stride, tension was already sky-high, as there were 24-hour fierce gamers, one playhouse, and ₦1 million up for grabs. Elvis Chukwuma Iheanaetu emerged the ultimate champ to the excitement of the crowd.
Just when the audience thought it couldn’t get better, the real heat began as DJ Delrhita hit the deck like she had something to prove and did. DJ Casper Sandra doubled the voltage, while Big Swag got the crowd amped, and the hype men —Dangerous Naki, Skye, Slym Shady, and Fresh— ensured no one sat down or stood still.
Like a sonic earthquake, South Africa’s own star boy, M.J shook the entire Base Landmark with “Manzi Nte” and “Teka,”leaving the guests wondering if the roof would hold. While DJ Consequence spun magic, DJs Maze and Mxtreme set fire to the decks, and when Magixx slid in with Colos, Okay, and Sexy Lady, it was clear — this wasn’t a concert, it was a hard reset for the people of Enugu.
