Prominent music and entertainment company, Jamika Entertainment, has signed fast rising musician, Gbadehan Adeyemi Michael, popularly known as Tokunbo, to the label’s establishment. The artist joins the stable of talented young acts like Koredianx, Yung Bos and Church of Men to be part of the Jamika Force family.

Tokunbo won the music labels talent show and music audition held in the Abule Egba township of Lagos, emerging as the most talented individual among those that participated in the competition, which was created to nurture talent in the neighbourhood. 

Speaking to Weekend Beats, the company’s head of operations, Mr Stanley Ihensekhien, recounted how challenging it was for the company to pick just one winner among so many rough diamonds that was unearthed in their search.

“Lagos and Nigeria as a whole is so blessed with talent, it was a tough decision trying to pick a winner but we are satisfied with the decision to pick Tokunbo.

“We believe he has the temperament and attitude to work with us to reach the top of the music industry, so we look forward to supporting him to get there.”

Tokunbo who is currently a final year student at the Lagos State University said he is eager to captivate his fans and supporters, while looking to get more listeners to his soothing brand of Afrobeats music.

“Every young artist has been inspired by Burnaboy, Wizkid and Rema, so being original is important to make a mark for oneself that’s why my style will set me apart and in the future win the big awards like Grammy,” he said.

Wasting no time Jamika Entertainment has earmarked a release of a single titled ‘Fire dey go’ from the young act, which they are confident “would climb high on the music charts within the country and internationally.”
