Grammy award winning artiste and African Giant hitmaker, Ebunoluwa Damini Ogulu, well known as Burna Boy’s unceremonious exit from the stage at the Greater Lagos Countdown 2025 has been shred online by netizens.

The incident occurred when an over-excited fan jumped on stage on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 night, causing the recently released Bundle crooner to abruptly cut short his performance. Startled by the development, the self-proclaimed Odogwu couldn’t continue his performance even when his smash hit Last Last came on.

Though an official successfully got the fan off the stage, apparently displeased by the scurry, the Ye crooner signaled his disinterest in carrying on with the performance and headed towards the exit.

While some fans have defended the Twice As Tall hitmaker’s reaction, citing the need for respect and professionalism during live performances, others have criticised him for reportedly overreacting.

Addressing the controversy surrounding his abrupt exit from the stage in a post via his Instagram story, the Afro-fusion singer explained that he has Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), a mental health condition that’s caused by an extremely stressful or terrifying event.

Burna Boy stated that he was startled by the overzealous fan’s attempt to grab him on stage, a reason he cut short his performance and walked off the stage. He further urged fans to respect his boundaries while expressing gratitude for their support.

Held at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Onikan Lagos, the concert was part of the yearly cross over night celebration across five IBILE divisions of the state — including locations in Ikorodu, Badagry, Agege, and Epe.

It featured performances from singers like Olamide, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Seyi Vibez, 9ice, BNXN, and the fuji maestro Adewale Ayuba.
