Tems redefines global footprint with  Children of Blood and Bone  soundtrack

Tems

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, Tems, continues to redefine her global footprint, stepping into a historic new role as the Executive Music Producer and Curator for the official soundtrack of Paramount Pictures’ highly anticipated fantasy epic, Children of Blood and Bone.

The project marks another landmark achievement for the Afrobeats star, whose influence continues to grow across music, film and popular culture.

Beyond overseeing the project’s musical direction, Tems contributed three brand-new original songs to the soundtrack, further cementing her influence on one of the year’s most anticipated film releases.

Already recognised as one of Africa’s most successful music exports, the For Broken Ears and If Orange Was a Place hitmaker is now playing a central role in shaping the musical identity of one of Hollywood’s biggest adaptations of an African-inspired story.

Explaining why Tems was chosen to lead the soundtrack during the film’s high-profile trailer launch event at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City, Director Gina Prince-Bythewood praised her creative vision and the quality of the final project.

“I wanted Tems to curate the soundtrack. I wanted her to executive produce it. She’s actually the first woman to executive produce a soundtrack at this level, which is incredible. She put together an epic soundtrack. There are absolutely no skips… The soundtrack is so amazing, and I’m so proud of Tems, who had never done this before and created something truly extraordinary,” she said.

Based on Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling, critically acclaimed fantasy novel, Children of Blood and Bone follows a young hero’s fight for purpose, magic, and justice in the mythical kingdom of Orïsha.

To build an authentic sonic landscape, Tems has assembled an elite roster of contemporary African talent. Grammy-winning artiste Burna Boy joins the project as the Executive Music Consultant, lending his structural expertise to the production.

The star-studded tracklist also features contributions from heavyweights such as Ayra Starr, Fireboy DML, and BNXN. In addition to her musical contributions, Ayra Starr is set to make her official Hollywood acting debut in the film.

With Children of Blood and Bone scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release early next year (January 15, 2027), the collaboration stands as a monumental cultural triumph—one that underscores the growing dominance of African creators in mainstream international entertainment.
