With a clear purpose to spread the gospel through music and inspire young people, Uyo Okon, popularly known as Uyamix, is growing as a global talent whose work communicates faith, encouragement and hope to audiences across different communities and cultures.

Now with five songs to his credit: ‘Love Story,’ ‘God’s Names,’ ‘God Is Great,’ ‘Gospel Exists’ and ‘Birthplace,’ Uyamix’s releases form an emerging catalogue centred on faith and gospel expression. His music has been distributed through major digital streaming platforms, with the artiste currently working towards restoring active availability of his online catalogue.

A London-based Nigerian gospel artiste, songwriter and producer, Uyamix’s musical expression is rooted in praise, worship and contemporary gospel. A multi-instrumentalist who plays drums and keyboard, Uyamix brings together musicianship, songwriting and production to create music centred on faith, encouragement and purpose.

Uyamix, who is the son of Prof. Okon Uya, a distinguished Professor of History in Nigeria and in America; Nigeria’s ambassador extra-ordinary and plenipotentiary to Argentina, Peru, Chile and Uruguay; a member of the Political Bureau; and Member, Panel of Eminent Persons of the African Peer Review Mechanism, began developing his musical journey in 2016. His growth has been shaped by practical experience in church music, fellowships, live performance and collaboration. He has played with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Four Square Gospel Church and Dunamis International Gospel Church, as well as school and university fellowships. He currently serves musically with AWCC Ambassadors Word Global.

Uyamix explores the breadth of contemporary gospel, moving between praise and worship while keeping the gospel message central. His creative identity extends beyond performance: as a songwriter and producer, he is involved in shaping music from its initial idea through to its recorded expression.

His live experience includes church performances and concerts in Nigeria, as well as performances in the United Kingdom. Based in London, Uyamix is continuing to develop his artistic voice and build a wider audience while drawing on the musical and spiritual foundations established through years of church service.

He has worked with musicians in Nigeria, including SamSenzio, and has also participated in collaborative work with other musicians, including rap-focused projects. These experiences contribute to an expanding creative practice that combines instrumental musicianship, songwriting and production.
