Speakers at the 2026 edition of The Undaunted Conference (TUC) have challenged young Nigerians to embrace courage, resilience, purpose and excellence as they navigate life’s uncertainties and pursue meaningful impact.
The conference, themed “The Unapologetic Edition,” was convened by Tolulope Tunde Ajiboye in Abuja and brought together thousands of participants for conversations on leadership, entrepreneurship, finance, relationships and personal development.
Delivering the keynote address, former Accountant General of the Federation and Nigeria’s first female Accountant General, Dr. Oluwatoyin Shakirat Madein, urged participants not to allow prevailing economic realities define their future, stressing that greatness is often forged through adversity rather than comfort.
“Greatness is not born in comfort alone. It is often formed in the midst of adversity by men and women who refuse to
give up,” she said.
Madein encouraged young people to remain steadfast in pursuing their dreams despite challenges.
“When circumstances shout discouragement, it is important to stay lifted, keep your faith alive and continue working even when the road ahead is uncertain,” she added.
In her welcome address, Convener of The Undaunted Conference, Tolulope Tunde Ajiboye, described the gathering as a movement designed to raise people who refuse to surrender their dreams despite life’s challenges.
Sharing her personal journey through grief, disappointment and uncertainty, she urged participants not to postpone purpose while waiting for ideal conditions.
“Today, I do not stand before you as someone who has figured everything out, but as a woman who has experienced loss, disappointment, uncertainty and grief. Giving up would have been easier than pressing on, yet we are here,” she said.
According to her, purpose survives pain and often emerges stronger after seasons of adversity.
“There will never be a perfect time. There will always be reasons to postpone your vision, but purpose does not wait for convenience. It responds to courage. If God has placed a dream in your heart, begin where you are, with what you have. Keep showing up, keep building and keep believing.”
During a fireside conversation, Nollywood actor Stan Nze encouraged participants to remain optimistic and committed to their dreams regardless of their present realities.
“You need to find positivity in your future one way or another. You need to know that your dreams are valid and that they are possible. You must dream and work consistently so that you can reap the rewards in the future,” he said.
He also urged young people to uphold integrity, discipline, punctuality and consistency, noting that these qualities often create opportunities for long term success.
Other speakers at the conference, including Jennifer Ariwigwe, Bukola Akerele, Olusola Dada, Vivian Savia, George Omoraro, Pamela Momoh, Dr. Megor Ikuenobe and Ife Aderibigbe, shared practical insights on leadership, finance, entrepreneurship and relationships, encouraging participants to build lives of purpose and impact.
A major highlight of the conference was the business pitch competition, where members of the audience selected the winning entrepreneurs through a live voting process. The overall winner received a ₦500,000 business grant, while the first runner up received ₦250,000, courtesy of a conference partner. The overall winner also received an additional ₦100,000 cash prize, courtesy of another partner.
Participants also benefited from mentorship opportunities, networking sessions and entrepreneurial support, including the presentation of free Point of Sale terminals to selected business owners through Redtech.
The conference attracted stakeholders from government, business, media, the creative industry and the nonprofit sector, reinforcing its vision of raising a generation of resilient and purpose driven leaders equipped to thrive in an ever-changing world.
