Wura: Casts storm Ibadan, Lagos to announce season three
Casts of the Showmax original telenovela, Wura, a gripping drama that delves into the complexities of power, betrayal, and survival, recently stormed the ancient city of Ibadan and Lagos to announce the commencement of Season 3 of the popular drama series, which has started streaming on Showmax – a video-on-demand service platform that brings you a wide array of series, movies, documentaries, Premier League and PSL games – with new episodes every week.
The event saw the streets of Ibadan stand still as the cast of the series that include, Scarlet Gomez, Ego Iheanacho, Martha Ehinome, Lanre Adediwura and Ray Adeka, made a fiery entrance that marked the beginning of the thrilling final chapter.
In a symbolic gesture, they set a giant ‘Wura’ text ablaze at a busy intersection in the heart of Ibadan, representing the tension and explosive drama awaiting fans this season.
Speaking at the event, Head of Marketing, Showmax Nigeria, Arinola Shobande said, “at Showmax, our goal has always been to connect our customers to stories that reflect their lives, their struggles, and their triumphs. ‘Wura’ is an example of great storytelling rooted in authenticity, and that’s why we brought this spectacle to Ibadan, one of the key hubs of Nigerian culture and a home to some of our loyal viewers.”
Following the fiery stunt at Gate in Ibadan, fans were treated to an intimate Wura Season 3 ‘Meet and Greet’ with cast members at the Domino’s Pizza store in Bodija, Ibadan. This allowed the passionate fan base in the city to meet their favourite stars, share their excitement, and take part in exclusive experiences tied to the show.
The caravan moved to Lagos for an exclusive screening at the Domino’s Pizza store on Saka Tinubu, Victoria Island. The event was attended by the cast, lucky fans and key executives from Showmax and Eat N’ Go Africa Limited, the franchise operators of Domino’s Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery, and Pinkberry Gourmet Frozen Yoghurt.
Speaking at the screening, the Group Chief Marketing Officer at Eat N’ Go Africa Limited, Mr Olumide Aniyikaiye said, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Showmax to bring Wura Season three to the fans. This collaboration is perfectly aligned with our goal to offer unique and memorable experiences that merge dining and entertainment for our customers.”
