It seems Starboy Records boss and singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun well known as Wizkid, will be dropping a song on celebrity blogger, Linda Ikeji with the title Aunty Linda, following their ongoing war of words on the social media.

Weekend Beat investigation revealed that the war of words which started few months back seems to be getting messier, as the duo on Sunday, April 3, sought for each other jugular. The battle had begun when Linda posted on her Instagram that Wizkid, had received quit notice from the landlady of the Lekki home he claimed to have bought. Linda also, claimed that his Porsche was bought on hire purchase and he was over 25 years he claims to be.

She wrote: “So my darling little ‘friend’ Wizkid went on my IG page this morning to blast me for writing that he was given quit notice at the Lekki home he claimed he bought some years ago, which he actually rented. Oh, and by the way did I mention that his Porsche car is also on hire purchase? And no darling, you are not 25, we know your real age.”

“He threatened to beat me up…called me an ugly old bitch…(I’m ugly? lol) says I don’t have a man (crying over that…) and called my mum a loser…(what a child). Anyway, all that don’t matter, people have said worse to me…what I wanted to address is the part where he said I slept with his director and he left me in a hotel…that one I will definitely want to address because some people actually believe it. That my dear friends is a lie!” Linda added.

Pique by the post, the Ojuelegba crooner also took to the Instagram to refute the blogger’s claim, and called her names, using a lot of profanity and derogatory statements about her lady parts.

He called the super-rich spinster “a sad old spinster at almost forty”, adding that she had not made the kind of impact he (Wizkid) had when she was his age. The Caro singer, also, bragged he was willing to employ Linda to work for him in his foundation’s ongoing project with focus of sending over 1000 children to school.

“All those shoes and bags still won’t help you keep a man! You and your laptop will stay married for life! That’s why my director fucked you and left your ass in the hotel cos your pussy stinks!  I googled Linda at 25 and found nothing; you wish you had all I have at 25! Your mom and your entire family are losers! You nothing but a blogger! All that money won’t change that. If I ever see you, I will get my 16 year old cousin to beat the shit out of you. Ugly old bitch! Just stay indoors and hide behind ur laptop! #UglyBitchLinda!” Wizkid wrote.

Linda refuted this, saying: “First and foremost, I have never met Wizkid one-on-one; I have only seen him once in real life on stage at a show a few years ago. I have never met anybody who is his director. Guess he put that line in his comments to defame me.

“Trust me, if I knew someone was Wizkid’s director, I’d rather kill myself than sleep with him or any other entertainer for that matter (except maybe he’s my husband…hehehe) because I know how some of these entertainers are…they kiss and tell a lot. You can’t afford to be messing around in their circle. So, no, I have NEVER slept with Wizkid’s director. I live a celibate life…most of the time. (Though, that has to end soon…I’m getting old and missing out on that part of life…lol)

“I have always been an advocate of women respecting their bodies and owning their own. And I feel sex should only happen when you’re in committed relationship (that is if you can’t wait till marriage) and I recommend celibacy for a long as you’re not committed to someone. There’s absolutely no dignity in sleeping around and messing around with different men. It’s ugly and God don’t like ugly. So no, I’m not that woman, and will never be that woman. Nice try, Wizkid!”

Linda claimed the award winning singer began bashing him when she refused a meeting with him. “I’m sure you wonder why Wizkid is so mad at me. To be honest, I don’t know either. All I know is that his beef with me started a long time ago, but he decided to start bashing me online after I refused a meeting with him. A few months ago, he asked his PR people to contact me that he wanted to talk to me.

For some reason, he thought I didn’t like him and I was hurting his image online. He wanted to see how I could write more positive things about him but I turned down the meeting. Not that I have anything against him, I sincerely don’t! I think he’s an amazing talent and one of the few music stars in Nigeria with a midas touch. So this wasn’t personal. I just didn’t want to meet him. If he lobbies me then it means I won’t be able to write anything about him anymore…and my job is to write…about everything, including entertainment.

With battle getting messier, fans and concerned Nigerians are began to show interest in the war between the two celebrities, as they pitch their tent and supports into two camps — for and against. While many have continued to criticise both celebrities for less than that required behavior, popular filmmaker and critic, Charles Novia lent his voice in a recent post to the ongoing buruhaha between the duo, saying that the expectations of the audience from them both as public figures, have fallen far below the expectations.

He said, “This means that while some measure of success demands some form of etiquette from Linda, now living among the elites, same is not expected ( even if demanded) from Wizkid. Wizkid’s reaction was true-to-type. He’s a street kid. A Surulere or Ojuelegba product and he’s not expected to have any chill. Unlike Linda, who is also from a poor background and has some understanding of the rules of the streets of Surulere. Wizkid is a supposed nouveau rich kid whose fame and fortune are grounded in the music of his streets.”
