Why Amju Unique MfB rewarded loyal customers, appreciated pioneer staff
Amju Unique Microfinance Bank, Warri, Delta, celebrated its 15th anniversary in grand style at its head office and nine other branches across the Sstate on May 12, 2025.
The bank honoured esteemed customers and gave out long-service rewards to staff in a show of appreciation for their patronage and commitment since the bank came into existence on May 2, 2010.
Eight staff who have been working for the bank since inception 15 years ago, were rewarded with cash gifts and solar generators, amongst others.
Also, 13 staff, who had put in ten years of dedicated service to the bank were equally rewarded with cash gifts already transferred to their various accounts.
Customers, who had shown unwavering patronage to Amju Unique Microfinance Bank, over the years, were specially recognised and handed letters of appreciation, branded souvenirs and others.
Some top customers included Chief Elizabeth Omoware. Managing Diretor, Oga’s Nigeria Enterprises; Engr Emmanuel Ikolo, Managing Diretor, Purim Engineering & Construction Company Ltd; Mr.Oshevire Akpovoka, Managing Director,. Oshepos Nigeria Enterprises; Prince Omagbemi Blessing, Managing Director, Lead Ultimate Resources Ltd, Mr. Victor Ighere Managing Director,, Aquadril Geological Services; Mr. Aren Louis, Managing Director, Loius Aren & Company Ltd.
In his special anniversary speech, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Amju Unique Microfinance Bank, Dr. Jonathan Ososuakpor, commended the customers and staff for their commitment through thick and thin.
He said, “As we gather to celebrate the 15th anniversary of AMJU Unique Microfinance Bank Ltd, it is fitting that we take a moment to reflect on the global financial landscape and the microfinance subsector. The global financial system has undergone significant changes in recent years, driven by technological advancements, shifting regulatory requirements, and evolving customer needs.”
The sector has passed through so many troubled waters but within this period of banking turbulence, AMJU Unique Microfinance Bank Limited started Operations on 3rd of May, 2010 with only one branch at 71 Airport Road Effurun and a few staff but today, the bank has opened eight branches in Delta State with one cash centre at Ogulagha.
Our staff strength has grown from 9 staff to 221 staff including core staff and contract staff.
It is heartwarming also to mention here that our customer base is significant and the bank has been actively involved in financial inclusion and financial literacy. Above all, our bank has been empowering the poorest of the poor with a view to alleviating poverty in Nigeria, in general, and Delta State, in particular.
Our growth trajectory is unparalleled and AMJU Unique MFB Limited has been named one of the topmost financial institutions that is supporting the Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Enterprises initiative of the Federal Government and by extension the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Elder Sheriff Oborewori.
The bank’s current deposit base is above 101 billion Naira and we have empowered a lot of Deltans and Nigerians in terms of employment of the youths and also grown businesses from embryonic stage to take off, stability and growth stages particularly young businesses that started from Esusu daily contribution to mega businesses.
Within the microfinance subsector, we have seen a growing demand for financial services that cater to the underserved and unbanked populations. Microfinance institutions have played a vital role in bridging the financial inclusion gap, providing access to credit, savings, and other financial services to individuals and small businesses.
Amidst these developments, Amju Unique MfB Ltd has emerged as a significant financial institution within the microfinance subsector. Our bank’s commitment to financial inclusion, innovation, and customer satisfaction has enabled us to build a strong reputation and establish ourselves as a trusted partner to our customers.
As we celebrate this milestone, I want to express my deepest gratitude to God for His faithfulness and guidance. His word reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). God’s empowerment is the reason for our survival.

At the event, customers and business associates also took turn to appraise the bank. One of such is Mr. Victor Ighere Managing Director/CEO, Aquadrill Geological Services, who described Amju Unique Microfinance Bank as a customer friendly.
Ighere disclosed that someone introduced him to the bank when he needed facility to run a project, and that in less than two weeks without collateral they gave him the loan and that since then he had been transacting with Amju.
Another happy customer, Engr. Emmanuel Ikolo, Managing Director, Purim Engineering & Construction Company, noted that ” Amju Unique MfB supports us with loans to keep our businesses going, and they also give us financial advice. They don’t just give the money, they also ensure it is used effectively. I call them financial managers and pray God to take the bank higher and higher to become a national Bank not just a Microfinance Bank.”
