2022 JOF Kids Cup Soccer final holds May 1

Organisers of the boys’ U-13 JOF Kids Cup soccer tournament have fixed May 1 for the final. The event holds at the Campos Mini Stadium, Ajele, Lagos Island.

Organisers of the boys’ U-13 JOF Kids Cup soccer tournament have fixed May 1 for the final. The event holds at the Campos Mini Stadium, Ajele, Lagos Island.

The competition, which kicked off on March 5, with its preliminary rounds played across various centres in Lagos, is its third edition.

Cash prizes of N350,000, N250,000 N200,000 and N150,000 were announced for the winner, first runner-up, second runner-up and fourth-placed teams respectively.

Speaking at the unveiling of trophies ceremony, the Director, Strategic Support Services, JOF Nigeria Limited, Adeyinka Adetunji, who spoke on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of the firm, Dr. Olusegun Olugboyegun, said the yearly competition was being organised to promote the growth of football at the grassroots and to help uncover talents among the youths in the state.

“We thank the Lagos State Grassroots Soccer Association who are the organisers for giving JOF Nigeria Limited the opportunity to sponsor this sensitive competition.

“We appreciate youth efforts and contributions to the development of sport and discovery of young football talents and with the prospects of bringing glory to their families and country in the future,” he said.

He added, “For us in JOF Nigeria, we would like to continue to encourage, support and showcase this type of constructive youth event in our country.

“We have also made provisions to reward some individual players, who will distinguish themselves during the tournament. We encourage all the participants to allow the spirit of fair play to guide them in the remaining matches leading to the final,” he stated.
