The Acting Director of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Dr. Jimmy Adeniyi, has expressed delight in the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, who is among the coaches registered with the institute recently for a management course.

Eguavoen, a former international and coach of the Super Eagles, is among 143 students undergoing various coaching, management and marketing courses at the NIS in the 2021/2022 academic session.

Eguavoen is currently in helping Super Eagles Assistant Coach, Joseph Yobo, in preparing home-based Eagles for an international friendly game against Mexico.

“Eguavoen knows that the NIS is a world-class coaches and sports administrators training institute hence he has been receiving lectures from our seasoned lecturers.

“He has been humble and committed to his target of being an authentic and certified sports administrator. I enjoin other ex-internationals to take the bull by the horns and come for scientific training from great coaches and lecturers,” he said.

Adeniyi said Nigerian sports would be among the best in the world if former sportsmen and women would come for the right training at the NIS.

It will be recalled that beside Eguavoen, Adeniyi also applauded some other products of the institute like Henry Nwosu, Fanny Amun, Moses Kpakor, and Chioma Ajunwa-Opara, among others, who are products of the institute.
