Apata Ajele Secondary School, Asa, yesterday emerged winners of the maiden Kwara Inter-Secondary School Volleyball Competition held in Ilorin. The school clinched the top spot by defeating Government High School, online betting Adeta, 3-1 (25-14, 25-19, 20-25, 25-17).

The third spot was secured by Erin-Ile Secondary School after edging out University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) Secondary School 2-0 (25-14, 25-20).

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Organiser, online betting site Dare Kuti, expressed gratitude for the successful hosting of the three-day competition.

He said: “Appreciation goes to the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod, betting tips 1×2 for his constant support in ensuring volleyball gets to the nook and cranny of the country.

“Nimrod, a man, who believes in grassroots sports, Today Match inspired me to take a big step by organising this competition, and without his support, I don’t think the competition would have seen the light of day.

“I want to thank the Kwara State Sports Commission led by Mallam Bolakale Mogaji; Kwara State Volleyball Association led by Bashorun Bankole; the Special Assistant to Kwara State Governor on Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Attahiru; Chairman of Nigeria Park Volleyball Commission, Maj.-Gen. Taritimiye Gagariga, Premier league team among others for the success of the competition.”

Kuti, however, called on well-meaning Nigerians to support the growth of volleyball as a sport in the state, especially from the grassroots.
