Former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu, has warned that Nigeria must be at its best if it desired to beat Algeria in next month’s Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier.

The Super Eagles will clash with the Desert Warriors of Algeria in their second game of the qualifying series on November 12 in Uyo. Nigeria leads Group B by three points after beating Zambia away in Ndola, while Algeria and Cameroun have a point each following their 1-1 draw in Blida.

Speaking with The Guardian yesterday, Chukwu, who is also a member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Committee, explained that the only way the Eagles can defeat the Algerians is ensuring total concentration throughout the 90 minutes.

Chukwu revealed that the Technical Committee has given the Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr, some tips on how to surmount the North Africans in Uyo, adding that the only way to qualify for Russia 2018 is by getting all points available in Group B.

He pleaded with the NFF to help the team in every way possible to succeed in the encounter, saying that beating Algeria would put the team in good stead to pick the ticket.

“The Algerians are coming to pick a point to resuscitate their campaign in Nigeria and I see them coming with a highly technical game plan. So, we must be ready for everything they will throw at us,” he said.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, has disclosed the Coach Rohr will release the list of players for the Algeria showdown this week to kick start preparation for the match.

He said the players invited for the match are expected to report to the Uyo camp on November 7.
