Brazil friendly a true test for Super Eagles, says Sofoluwe
Former Nigerian international, Yisa Sofoluwe believes the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is on the right track by organising grade A friendlies for the Super Eagles, especially the upcoming game against Brazil in Singapore next month. The former defender says such games will add steel to the Eagles confidence.
The former Abiola Babes star says the Super Eagles need to play top quality friendlies against high profile Nations to measure their strength in world football, adding that playing against Brazil will also give Coach Gernot Rohr an insight on the quality of players in his squad
He, however, charges the invited players for the warm up tie to use the game as another avenue to launch themselves to stardom.
“I think the last time the Eagles played against them in Abuja, Brazil won the tie. But that is not the issue.
“We need to play top quality Nations like Brazil, Germany, France and others to measure our strength in football because playing top quality friendlies would give the Eagles more confidence when they face top Africa countries. It will also help the team’s confidence when they get to the world stage,” he said.
