Dairy Farm Senior Secondary School of Agege and defending champion, Ikotun Senior High School, Ikotun, at the weekend emerged winners in the boys and girls’ categories of Season Seven of GTBank Lagos State Principals Cup. The finals were held at the main bowl of Teslim Balogun.

The final, which was flagged off by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, GTBank, Mr. Segun Agbaje, saw Dairy Farm, champions of 2012 and 2014, walloped debutant, Ejigbo Senior Secondary School, Ejigbo, 6-1 in a highly entertaining match.

The former champions had subdued their inexperienced challenger in the first half of the match, scoring five goals. Dairy Farm later increased the tally with two more goals in the second half before Ejigbo School scored their lone goal via penalty.

Earlier, the Ikotun girls had defeated CMS Girls Senior Secondary School, Bariga 2-0 to retain the cup the school won last year.

With the victory, Dairy Farm, which had won the trophy on two previous occasions, will keep the trophy permanently. The school also won for itself a cash prize of N1 million, the same amount won by Ikotun School. The second, third and fourth positions in both boys and girls’ categories got N750,000, N500,000 and N250,000 respectively.
