Delta Shooters harvest eight gold medals, spikes Edo to win women’s volleyball

Delta State shooters won eight of the ten available gold medals at the sports festival, which ends today. The shooters said they were been able to achieve the feat based on their preparations and excellent support received. Some of the medal winners include Esugu Okposo and his wife who both won in the air-rifle event.

Adebola John won gold in the 10m air-pistol mixed team events and silver in the 10m air-pistol men team event. Speaking to reporters after his victory, he said, “This is my maiden participation in the NSF and it’s thrilling to win gold medals.

After Team Delta male volleyball team lost the gold medal, the women came to the rescue yesterday, defeating their rival, Team Edo, in the final of the Volleyball women’s event.
 
Team Delta girls, coached by Tina Azomani, were very forceful from the blast of the whistle and they maintained the momentum to condemn their opponents to the silver medal position after winning three straight sets.
