Eguavoen, others set for FAFT 2020 final in Sapele
Former Super Eagles captain, Austine Eguavoen, Victor Agali, Friday Ekpo, Emmanuel Olisadebe and other top retired Nigerian players of Edo/Delta origin will grace the final of the 2020 Felix Anirah Football Tournament at the Sapele Township Stadium on Saturday.
According to the organisers of the competition, the football icons will thrill the crowd in a novelty match.
Former U.S.-based Nigerian player and member of the Felix Anirah Football Tournament (FAFT) Committee, Larry Kubeinje, said preparations are in top gears for the final, adding that such other ex-internationals as Felix Owolabi, Monday Eguaveon, Efe and Sam Sodje, Friday Elahor, Bright Omokaro, Darlington Omodiagbe, Christian Obodo, Prince Afejuku and Joe Eyimofe will also feature in the novelty game.
Chairman of Delta State Football Association and former goalkeeper, Ken Nwamuocha, will lead other Ex-players such as Steve Cole, Lucky Sunday, Tony Owen, Segun Oguns, Alfred Poto, Alfred Oteri, Segun Agbayewa, Blankson brothers of Tosan and Harry In the novelty match.
A gala night at the Sapele Atlantic Club will follow the final game.
According to the sponsor of the tournament, Felix Anirah of the Delta State House of Assembly, said he was assembling the former super stars to honour and appreciate their services to the country and Delta State.
