Enyimba must fall, Adah boasts
FC IfeanyiUbah attacking midfielder Stephen Adah has said that victory against champions Enyimba is key to win the top prize in the ongoing top-flight.
The Anambra Warriors are hosts of the People’s Elephant in tomorrow’s top-flight matchday 37 oriental derby at the Gabros International Stadium in Nnewi.
Adah said that Enyimba are certain to prove themselves as champions despite their outright outside status to the throne.“Of course, the match will either make or mar our chances of winning the league crown at the end of the day.“Already we have told ourselves we must beat Enyimba convincingly to stand on good footing to challenge for the title.
“Enyimba have lost their bid to win back the league crown, but they remain the champions and certain to prove the stuff in them in the oriental derby.
“We do not see them as losers who will be contended to lose without a fight, they are champions and will want to win to guide their hard earned name.
“However, we have a lot to win in the clash, that’s why we have gone the extra mile to steel ourselves for the tough battle.“Victory will be quite sweet for us aside what happens in the other clashes involving leaders Enugu Rangers, Rivers United and Wikki Tourists.
“Right now we are hopeful that the league crown has not been won by any of the front-runners, and the eventual winners could be us,” said the former Enugu Rangers and FC Taraba goal poacher to supersport.com.
FC IfeanyiUbah are fourth on the top-flight log on 53 points, four adrift league leaders and oriental neighbours Enugu Rangers.
