Gombe United winger Rasheed Isa Salami is attracting interest from clubs in Europe and Asia following an impressive run of performances in the 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

According to sources close to the player, several clubs have monitored the 23-year-old in recent months as they assess potential targets ahead of the next transfer window. Although no formal offer or transfer agreement has been confirmed, interest in the winger is understood to be growing.

Salami has been one of Gombe United’s standout performers this season, earning praise for his pace, direct running and ability to create problems for opposition defences.

Among his notable displays was his performance against Jigawa Golden Stars, where he impressed despite his side’s narrow defeat, as well as his contribution to Gombe United’s victory over Bichi First FC. More recently, he was named Man of the Match after an influential display in the club’s 1-1 draw with Yobe Desert Stars.

Capable of playing on either wing, Salami combines pace, close control and one-on-one ability with a strong work rate, qualities that have made him an important part of Gombe United’s attacking setup.

Before joining the Savannah Scorpions, the winger featured for FC Mitrovica in Kosovo, where he gained experience in European football and further developed his tactical awareness.

Sources familiar with the player’s situation said clubs from Eastern Europe, Central Europe and parts of Asia have continued to monitor his progress, with further scouting expected before decisions are taken during the transfer window.

While discussions remain at a preliminary stage, Salami’s recent performances have strengthened his prospects of securing another opportunity abroad if the reported interest develops into formal negotiations.
