First Bank set to make a mark in Africa club championship, says Ahmedu

Speaking ahead of the championship, First Bank Basketball club coach, Peter Ahmedu, stated that with two Africa titles in 2003 and 2009, the Elephant Girls will fight hard to make a mark in Togo.

The four Basketball clubs in both female and male category, First Bank, Dolphins, Kano Pillars and Customs qualified to represent Nigeria at the FIBA Africa Zone-three Basketball championship elimination series, slated to dunk off in Lome, Togo from October 21 to 31, have expressed optimism in picking the four slots at stake in the tournament.

Speaking ahead of the championship, First Bank Basketball club coach, Peter Ahmedu, stated that with two Africa titles in 2003 and 2009, the Elephant Girls will fight hard to make a mark in Togo.

He noted that as part of the teams effort to attain success this year at the continental level, First Bank have already resumed training before the venue for the Zone- three championship was announced, revealing that the Elephant Girls have also fine-tune its preparations by increasing the hours of training.

Ahmedu added that the management of First Bank Basketball club also have plans to strengthen the team in every capacity .

He declared that regaining the domestic league title this year, is a pointer that the club is prepared to prove a point  at the Africa biggest basketball club championship.
