FNL team wins Fatgbems Group football tourney

Fatgbems Nigeria Limited (FNL) team has emerged winner of the Fatgbems Group football tournament held last week at the Beehive School, CBD Alausa, Ikeja in Lagos State.

The yearly football competition, which is in its second edition, was created to promote team bonding and fitness among all the staff of Fatgbems Group, who engaged themselves in ‘opon ayo’, dancing and the football teams classified under Corporate Office, Depot, Tyre and Retail.

At the end of the football tournament, Tyre Team beat the defending champion, Depot Team 4-1 in a thrilling encounter, while Corporate Office Team humbled Retail Team by a lone goal to claim the third place position.

For their efforts, Tyre Team was presented a trophy, medals and cash prize, while the first and second runners-up also got cash and medals.

Captain of Tyre Team of FNL, Olatunji Kazeem thanked the management for bringing all the staff of the company together to unwind, adding that the success of his team was due to hard work and the undying spirit to achieve success.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman Fatgbems Group, Kabir Gbemisola, stated that the aim of the tournament was to promote bonding and general fitness among the staff, adding that it was also a time to appreciate and create relaxed atmosphere.

He stated that football promotes emotions and unity, which has shown in the way the participating teams coordinated themselves and that the cheering has been wonderful. “We hope to make the next edition bigger and also extend beyond our walls.”

The special guest and a football promoter, Mr. Yomi Kuku, hailed the management for creating such an atmosphere for its workers, while advising other corporate bodies to emulate the company’s idea.

Fatgbems Group of Company was incorporated as an independent petroleum marketing company and tyre trading company delivering service satisfaction and value to customers.
